Prologue After the end of World War I, Germany struggled to accept the reality of defeat. Rather than offering reconciliation, the Treaty of Versailles ensured the nation could never rise as a dominant power again. Crushing reparations led to excessive currency printing, triggering runaway hyperinflation that devastated the economy. Rather than easing the people's suffering, the nation's leaders exploited nationalism to consolidate power. Radical nationalist sentiment spread rapidly as people, humiliated and impoverished, began yearning for a strong leader and a return to former glory. Amid this turbulent atmosphere, a charismatic young girl skillfully harnessed the anger and resentment of the masses, rapidly building her own power base. Then in 1939, Nazi Germany's invasion of Poland ignited the flames of World War II. Amid the smoke and chaos of the battlefield, a squad of girl soldiers carrying the weight of destiny emerged. A story never told before, one where girl soldiers take center stage in a war unlike any other, is about to begin.
